Retired U.S. Air Force members that were part of the Air Force Combat Ammunition Center’s (AFCOMAC) first cadre present the Outstanding Performer award for AFCOMAC class 2026-004 to Staff Sgt. Elijah Cruz, 649th Munitions Squadron (MUNS) munitions technician, during the joint class 2026-004 graduation and 40th AFCOMAC anniversary ceremony on March 27, 2026, at Beale Air Force Base, California. Hosted by the 9th MUNS, AFCOMAC provides advanced training in mass combat ammunition planning and production, preparing personnel to establish bomb dumps and build thousands of live munitions in realistic, bare-base scenarios through its Combat Ammunition and Production (CAPP) course and Senior Leader Aerial Munitions Course (SLAM-C). AFCOMAC class 2026-004 consisted of a joint force featuring Airmen, Sailors and Marines and broke the AFCOMAC record for the highest amount of munitions built, 915, along with the fewest discrepancies. The first class was held in 1986 at Sierra Army Depot, California, devised and led by the first cadre. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Frederick A. Brown)
