Visitors attend "Meet a Sentinel" in the Memorial Amphitheater at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Sunday, May 25, 2025. This event, part of Flowers of Remembrance Day, gave visitors the chance to meet with a sentinel from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) who guard the Tomb of the Unknown. Flowers of Remembrance Day, which pays homage to the first official Decoration Day at ANC in 1868 and is now known as Memorial Day, gave visitors the opportunity to cross the plaza and place a flower in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
