CAPT William Howard, Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) Dayton Commanding Officer, and Capt. J. Russell Linderman, NAMRU Dayton Executive Officer, meet with a group photo with members of the Advanced Aerospace Medicine for International Medical Officers (AAMIMO) course during a visit to NAMRU Dayton, April 8, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Hosted through the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), AAMIMO is in its 63rd year and is an elite program for international military students selected by their respective countries to prepare for future leadership roles such as Surgeon General or Defense Health Minister. The visit provided an overview of NAMRU Dayton’s mission and included tours of the Environmental Health Effects Laboratory (EHEL) and the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory (NAMRL), highlighting the command’s contributions to human performance in extreme environments. NAMRU Dayton, part of Navy Medicine Research and Development, participates in medical research and development efforts dedicated to advancing warfighter lethality by protecting and enhancing health, readiness and performance through cutting-edge toxicology, environmental health and aerospace medical studies.
