U.S. Marines with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, participate in training on the Automated Construction of Expeditionary Structures system with members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers research and development team at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 26-28, 2025. The training prepared Marines from 9th ESB to utilize and operate the ACES, which enables printing of custom concrete structures that reduces labor, logistics, and manpower requirements. 9th ESB is the first Marine Corps unit to receive training on the ACES, with their utilization of the system helping to inform how the printing capability can be used across the force.
