Members of the Rhode Island National Guard held a change of responsibility ceremony and retirement ceremony for the outgoing State Command Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major Michael Wong, and welcoming the incoming State Command Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major Clarke Hall, Feb. 7, 2026, Camp Fogarty, R.I. Wong retires after more than 40 years of military service, and Hall assumes responsibility after serving more than 35 years in the Rhode Island Army National Guard.

Spc. Junior Canario deploys to Kosovo, anticipating to receive his American citizenship while deployed. Due to unknown circumstances, Canario travels back to his home state of RI with his platoon sergeant to swear in and receive his U.S. citizenship.
