    U.S. Army Pfc. Jonathan Montesinos, a military police officer assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, completes an obstacle during day one of the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 7, 2026. The opening day contained graded lanes that placed competitors under sustained physical demands, testing their ability to recover between events, manage mounting fatigue and maintain consistent performance from one challenge to the next. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
