    U.S. Army Sgt. Anthony Adame, a corrections and detention specialist assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, holds a plank during the Army Fitness Test portion of the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 7, 2026. The competition began with a physical fitness test to put strain on the contestants immediately, which only multiplied the fatigue as they conquered the next physical lane of the competition. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
