    U.S. Army Pfc. Stephanie Ortegon, a military police officer assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, competes in the Army Fitness Test portion of the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 7, 2026. The first day of the five-day competition focused on physical fitness, challenging competitors through the AFT and a series of demanding physical events designed to assess strength, endurance and overall readiness. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
