FORT RILEY, Kan. — Army ROTC Cadet Claire Troshynski, a nursing student from Texas Christian University, practices an intravenous catheter insertion on a combat medic assigned to the Emergency Department at Irwin Army Community Hospital. Observing and guiding the procedure is Cecilia Nowlin, a Registered Nurse and clinical preceptor at the hospital, who ensures patient safety and clinical standards are maintained throughout the hands-on training. The clinical practice is part of the hospital’s four-week Nurse Summer Training Program (NSTP), designed to build the confidence and competence of future Army Nurse Corps officers.
