Newly commissioned 2nd Lt. Donavan Davenport receives his first salute from Illinois Army National Guard Sgt. Adante Taylor of Recruiting and Retention Command during Northern Illinois University’s Army ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, May 15, in the Carl Sandburg Auditorium on the university’s campus in Dekalb, Ill. Davenport branched Medical Services in the active Army. He served as an enlisted Soldier in the Illinois Army National Guard for six years. The ROTC program commissioned 10 new Army second lieutenants, five of whom are joining the Illinois Army National Guard.
