Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, U.S. Space Command command senior enlisted leader, gives closing remarks to fellows from National Defense University’s Keystone course in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jan. 12, 2026. During his remarks, Simmons thanked the fellows for attending and highlighted the importance of USSPACECOM’s mission, saying, “The Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Guardians, and Sentinels in our formations have never experienced life without the impact of space operations. We must treat space like all other areas of responsibility, integrating and synchronizing joint, combined, interagency, and commercial effects to win there—and win everywhere.” The Keystone Course educates senior enlisted leaders serving in or selected for general or flag officer-level joint or service headquarters that may be assigned as a joint task force. USSPACECOM works with senior leaders across the Department of War and our allies to foster a warfighting culture and promote professional growth, which is instrumental to the rapidly advancing capabilities of the Joint Force.
