Chief Master Sgt. Kelvin Hatcher, 355th Wing command senior enlisted leader, listens as U.S. Space Command leaders talk about the importance of the command’s mission in space during National Defense University’s Keystone course in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jan. 12, 2026. He said the course helped him better prepare his troops for the space mission. "Keystone is a game-changer, not just for leading troops of an individual service but for leading joint warfighters to fulfill our nation's interests and objectives," Hatcher said. He added, "The USSPACECOM presentation showed the granularity of its crucial role in national security to maintain space superiority against threats from other nations, whether global surveillance, precise navigation, or early warning for missile attacks. As a leader, it's important to know the essentials of military effectiveness across each spectrum of the joint domain." The Keystone Course educates senior enlisted leaders serving in or selected for general or flag officer-level joint or service headquarters that may be assigned as a joint task force. USSPACECOM works with senior leaders across the Department of War and our allies to foster a warfighting culture and promote professional growth, which is instrumental to the rapidly advancing capabilities of the Joint Force.
