S/Sgt. Roy H. Wolford, assigned to the 123rd Observation Squadron, Oregon National Guard, operates a film camera in Hoquiam, Wash., during the squadron’s first anniversary of federal service in September 1942. The squadron operated aircraft on anti-submarine/coastal patrol missions from the nearby Moon Island Airport from mid-March to November 1942. Members of the 123rd would later be mobilized under the 35th PRS in the China-Burma-India Theatre of Operations as World War II escalated.
