Oregon National Guard soldiers from the Engineering Section of the 123rd Observation Squadron’s detachment at Yakima Municipal Airport, Washington, uncrate spare parts or supplies in the falling snow during November 1942. Their sheepskin jackets and heavy boots were helpful in such miserable conditions. Note the simple facilities behind them: a small wooden shack, a tent, and a tar-paper-covered building beyond.
