U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Cameron J. Meyer, center, and Philippine Marines pull a Logistics Vehicle System Replacement recovery wench during KAMANDAG 3 on Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, October 8, 2019. LVSR Wrecker operators from Combat Logistics Detachment 342 recover various vehicles that are immobile due to the muddy terrain. KAMANDAG helps participating forces maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness, and enhances combined military-to-military relations, interoperability, and multinational coordination. KAMANDAG 3 is a Philippine-led, bilateral exercise with participation from Japan. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries. Meyer, a native of Fairbury, Nebraska, is a LVSR Wrecker operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
