    3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Joseph L. Kenney exchanges techniques on the different ways to tie detonation cord with a Philippine Airman during KAMANDAG 3 on Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, Oct. 16, 2019. Marines with Explosive Ordnance Disposal conducted a bilateral EOD subject matter expert exchange with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The EOD SMEE consisted of periods of instruction and dynamic demonstrations. KAMANDAG helps participating forces maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness, and enhances combined military-to-military relations, interoperability, and multinational coordination. KAMANDAG 3 is a Philippine-led, bilateral exercise with participation from Japan. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries. Kenney, a native of Cut and Shoot, Texas, is an EOD technician with EOD Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Armando Elizalde)
