U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Richard J. Piazza takes accountability of 7-tons being used by Combat Logistics Detachment 342 during KAMANDAG 3 on Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, Oct. 8, 2019. CLD-342’s mission is to provide operational readiness and logistical support to Marines attached to 3rd Marine Division. KAMANDAG helps participating forces maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness, and enhances combined military-to-military relations, interoperability, and multinational coordination. KAMANDAG 3 is a Philippine-led, bilateral exercise with participation from Japan. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
