U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Jaime Gallardo gives a basic Explosive Ordnance Disposal pin to a Philippine Army Special Explosive Ordnance Disposal Course graduate during a pinning ceremony on Camp O’Donnell, Tarlac, Philippines, Oct. 10, 2019. The Marines were invited to attend the ceremony as honorary guests to pin the newly graduated students. KAMANDAG helps participating forces maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness, and enhances combined military-to-military relations, interoperability, and multinational coordination. KAMANDAG 3 is a Philippine-led, bilateral exercise with participation from Japan. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries. The Marines are with EOD Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Armando Elizalde)
