JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO – FORT SAM HOUSTON - (Sept. 13, 2019) After six weeks of training, Navy Counselor 1st Class Nathaniel Sehon of Lubbock, Texas, assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio, was promoted to the rank of chief petty officer during a pinning ceremony held at the Fort Sam Houston Theatre. Sehon, a graduate of Lubbock Cooper High School and 2019 graduate of Ashford University was pinned by his wife, Amanda and their children. “This is the most pivotal time in my career,” said Sehon. “It is a great honor to become a chief petty officer and very humbling for me and my family.” At the ceremony’s conclusion, active duty, retired, and former chief petty officers “Manned the Rails” and saluted Sehon as he passed through the side boys and was welcomed into the NRD Chief’s Mess. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
