Story by Senior Airman Shannon Braaten

    8th Fighter Wing

The 8th Civil Engineer Squadron received augmentees from around the Air Force to expedite infrastructure repairs and preventative maintenance at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Sept. 12, 2022. 12 augmentees arrived from the following bases and will work side-by-side with 8 CES personnel on infrastructure sustainment efforts for the next 45-60 days:
    - Misawa Air Base, Japan
    - Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota
    - Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii
    - Joint Base Elmendorff-Richardson, Alaska
    - Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington D.C.
The addition of these CE augmentees, specifically within the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning shop, will give 8 CES personnel the bandwidth necessary to respond to emergency tasks and execute day-to-day preventive maintenance simultaneously, instead of primarily focusing on the emergency tasks associated with the high heat and humidity of summer. Weather dependent, the augmentees will also assist HVAC personnel with the transition from heating to cooling facilities, another high operation tempo time of the year.
