Two individuals in military or CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) protective gear are engaged in what appears to be a training exercise in an outdoor wooded setting. One person wearing a full green hazmat-style suit with gas mask is assisting or checking the other person, who is wearing camouflage military clothing and a gas mask. A third person in camouflage is visible in the background near a military-style tent.

A U.S. Marine with the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense element, 2d Marine Logistics Group, conducts simulated casualty decontamination during Exercise Archipelago Endeavor 26 in Berga, Sweden, Sept. 4, 2026. Combined training between U.S. Marines and the Swedish Armed Forces was focused on CBRN defense, medical crisis response, and amphibious operations, bringing CBRN and medical personnel together to respond to injured personnel following a simulated hazardous-area mission. U.S. and Swedish CBRN personnel practiced decontaminating injured personnel before transferring them to medical personnel for continued care. Archipelago Endeavor 26 strengthens bilateral interoperability, littoral defense capabilities, and tactical cooperation while demonstrating the readiness of U.S. and Swedish forces to operate together in the Baltic Sea region.
