Members of the Swedish Home Guard 296 chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense Platoon evacuate a simulated casualty during Exercise Archipelago Endeavor 26 in Berga, Sweden, Sept. 4, 2026. Combined training between U.S. Marines and the Swedish Armed Forces was focused on CBRN defense, medical crisis response, and amphibious operations, bringing CBRN and medical personnel together to respond to injured personnel following a simulated hazardous-area mission. U.S. and Swedish forces practiced moving casualties through the response process before transitioning them to decontamination and medical treatment. Archipelago Endeavor 26 strengthens bilateral interoperability, littoral defense capabilities, and tactical cooperation while demonstrating the readiness of U.S. and Swedish forces to operate together in the Baltic Sea region.
