A soldier in Swedish M90 camouflage pattern uniform is taking a firing position behind a concrete barrier during what appears to be a military exercise or training scenario. The soldier is equipped with full combat gear including a gas mask, tactical helmet with rail-mounted accessories, body armor with magazine pouches, and is aiming what appears to be a Bofors/SAAB AK5 assault rifle. Additional soldiers in similar uniforms are visible in the background.

A member of the Swedish Home Guard 296 chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense Platoon holds security during Exercise Archipelago Endeavor 26 in Berga, Sweden, Sept. 4, 2026. Combined training between U.S. Marines and the Swedish Armed Forces was focused on CBRN defense, medical crisis response, and amphibious operations, bringing CBRN and medical personnel together to respond to injured personnel following a simulated hazardous-area mission. U.S. and Swedish forces practiced moving casualties through the response process before transitioning them to decontamination and medical treatment. Archipelago Endeavor 26 strengthens bilateral interoperability, littoral defense capabilities, and tactical cooperation while demonstrating the readiness of U.S. and Swedish forces to operate together in the Baltic Sea region.
