Military personnel are conducting a combat casualty care exercise, with what appears to be a simulated wounded soldier lying on a stretcher covered in a mylar/emergency blanket. A US Marine in MARPAT camouflage and combat helmet is attending to the casualty, while a Swedish military service member (identified by the Swedish flag patch) takes notes with a pen. A third military figure in MARPAT uniform is partially visible on the right side of the frame.

U.S. Navy Corpsmen with 4th Medical Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Marine Forces Reserve, and Swedish medical personnel with 2nd Naval Combat Service Support Battalion provide medical care to a casualty during Exercise Archipelago Endeavor 26 in Berga, Sweden, Sept. 4, 2026. Combined training between U.S. Marines and the Swedish Armed Forces was focused on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense, medical crisis response, and amphibious operations, bringing CBRN and medical personnel together to respond to injured personnel following a simulated hazardous-area mission. U.S. and Swedish medical personnel provided care to casualties after they completed simulated CBRN decontamination and were moved to a safe area. Archipelago Endeavor 26 strengthens bilateral interoperability, littoral defense capabilities, and tactical cooperation while demonstrating the readiness of U.S. and Swedish forces to operate together in the Baltic Sea region.
