The lane required Soldiers to disassemble, reassemble, and conduct functions checks on the M249, M4, and M17, configure an ASIP radio, and complete map‑plotting tasks. The belt buckle rodeo, modeled after a cavalry scout spur ride, included multiple strenuous events and ruck marches to build camaraderie and distinguish participants from other aviation units.
