    Center for Service Support

Accurate, up-to-date training doesn’t happen by chance - it takes constant attention, coordination, and expertise behind the scenes.

That’s exactly what RSC Roberto Coriano has been doing at the Center for Service Support for the past few years.

As a Retail Services (RS) Fleet Training Manager, RSC Coriano oversees the curriculum for multiple courses that prepare Retail Services Specialists across the Fleet. From managing PQS and Rate Training Manuals to reviewing and updating course materials, his work ensures Sailors are learning the most current policies and guidance available.

He works closely with the Instructional Systems Specialist team and stays connected with instructors in Dam Neck, San Diego, and Meridian - making sure they have everything they need to successfully train the next generation of RSs.

Right now, RSC Coriano is focused on enhancing the Ship’s Store Afloat Resale Operations Management (ROM) course by incorporating real-life scenarios - giving students a clearer picture of what to expect in their day-to-day roles.

Like many Training Managers, one challenge he highlights is a common misconception: course content can’t just be changed freely. Every update must be backed by verified, legitimate references to ensure accuracy across the Fleet.

After more than two decades in his rate, RSC Coriano has found real meaning in giving back - helping shape the training and development of Sailors who will follow in his footsteps.

His approach to productivity? Keep it simple: don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife - and staying active on the pickleball court. "I've been playing pickleball for around one year and have not looked back since!" he says.

Thank you, RSC Coriano, for your dedication to your rate and your lasting impact on Fleet training. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter!
