Dr. Nicole Eilers, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency Europe-Mediterranean regional directorate briefed the audience about facilitating remaining recovery through research, planning, and execution of DPAA field activities during the fourth Scientific Summit in Milan, Italy, Sept. 18, 2025. With 16 different countries in attendance, the event sought to share innovations in forensic identification, isotope testing, and DNA analysis while fostering international cooperation in the scientific community. The summit included information about ongoing recoveries, identification processes and advancements, partnerships and innovations, and any significant developments regarding specific cases of missing service members.
