Maria Mikellide International Committee of the Red Cross resolve platform application manager, brief ICRC perspectives in responding to different types of crisis during the fourth Scientific Summit in Milan, Italy, Sept. 18, 2025. The event was co-hosted by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and the University of Milan, Laboratory of Forensic Anthropology and Odontology. The summit included information about ongoing recoveries, identification processes and advancements, partnerships and innovations, and any significant developments regarding specific cases of missing service members. With 16 different countries in attendance, the event sought to share innovations in forensic identification, isotope testing, and DNA analysis while fostering international cooperation in the scientific community.
