A fellerbuncher owned by Peterson Timber works uneven slopes to thin an area directly next to Everett Memorial Highway. The blade on this machine is called a hot saw and produces large amounts of wood chips that shoot several feet. Timber and logging companies, Sierra Pacific Industries and Peterson Timber, work an active timber harvest sale in the McBride Plantation area just southwest of Mount Shasta on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in February 2023.
