Sailors assigned to the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) prepare to lower the colors before a social event for distinguished visitors in Corfu, Greece, April 1, 2013. This is a scheduled port visit for the ship, which is currently deployed to the 6th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
