A tan/desert-colored U.S. military HMMWV (Humvee) is secured with chains on what appears to be the deck of a naval vessel. An American flag flies from a flagpole in the background, with a coastal city and hillside fortification visible across the water. The setting suggests a port call or amphibious operation in a Mediterranean location.

A Humvee is one of many assets carried by the Marines and Sailors from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) aboard the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) as they stop in Corfu, Greece, March 30, 2013. This is a scheduled port visit for the ship, which is currently deployed to the 6th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force. The MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt.
