    26th Marine Expeditionary Unit     

    The USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), transporting the Marines and Sailors from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is ported in Corfu, Greece, March 31, 2013. This is a scheduled port visit for the ship, which is currently deployed to the 6th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
