U.S. Army Sgt. Brandon Valverde, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency mountaineer, secures a cinderblock in place on a mountain slope during a recovery mission in South Korea, May 30, 2024. The recovery team used cinderblocks to designate every 10 meters up the mountain. The team also used a medical litter to safely transfer the cinderblocks upslope while operating the pulley system they had discussed during mountaineer training.
