U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Brad Debout, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) recovery team explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician, performs a metal detection sweep across a mountain slope during a recovery mission in South Korea, May 30, 2024. DPAA utilizes EOD technicians on recovery missions to search for concentrations of metal that could indicate the location of aircraft wreckage, as well as to identify any unexploded ordnance found on site.
