Jeff Allen, Pacific Air Forces Headquarters Public Affairs photojournalist, before the start of the 4th annual Paddling Athletes Association Thanksgiving Food Drive Race Nov. 17, 2012, in Hawaii Kai, Hawaii. Allen and Awaya, student and teacher respectively, were among more than 120 entrants to the race. Outrigger canoe racing is the state sport of Hawaii.
