Master Sgt. Jeff Allen, Pacific Air Forces Headquarters Public Affairs photojournalist, lifts his outrigger canoe out of the water after finishing the eight-and-a-half-mile Paddling Athletes Association Thanksgiving Food Drive Race Nov. 17, 2012. Outrigger canoe racing is the state sport of Hawaii. Allen, joined paddling coach and friend Tim Awaya, and entered his first paddling race with less than a week left on island before a permanent change of station.
