Jeff Allen, Pacific Air Forces Headquarters Public Affairs photojournalist, jokes with friends he's made paddling his outrigger canoe before the start of the Paddling Athletes Association Thanksgiving Food Drive Race Nov. 17, 2012. Outrigger canoe racing is the state sport of Hawaii. Allen, joined paddling coach and friend Tim Awaya, and entered his first paddling race with less than a week left on island before a permanent change of station.
