210827-N-AC165-0038 NORFOLK, Va. (August 27, 2021) – Military Sealift Command in the Atlantic (MSCLANT) changed hands when Navy Capt. Daniel E. Broadhurst relieved Navy Capt. Janice G. Smith as commodore of Norfolk-based Military Sealift Command Atlantic during a change of command ceremony held aboard USNS Comfort at Naval Station Norfolk, August 27, 2021. During Smith’s remarks she gave a heartfelt thanks to family, friends, and staff. Chaplain Lt. James Hardy (right) gave the benediction, thanking the good Lord for allowing participants to assemble during this time-honored tradition, and praying for divine favor and blessings upon Smith and her family during the next chapter of their lives. Hardy also prayed for a seamless transition and continued success upon Broadhurst and his family.
