The image shows multiple F-35A Lightning II fighter jets on a taxiway or flight line at what appears to be a tropical military airfield. The foreground aircraft bears the tail code 'AK' and serial number '15350', indicating it belongs to an Alaska-based unit. Ground personnel and a large transport aircraft, likely a C-130, are visible in the background.

Two F-35A Lightning II assigned to Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, await to refuel from a C-130J Super Hercules assigned to the 36th Airlift Squadron at Yokota Air Base, Japan, at Northwest Field as part of Agile Combat Employment (ACE) multi-capable Airmen training during Cope North 21 at Andersen AFB, Guam, Feb. 16, 2021. ACE allows for more flexibility by operating more freely with allies and partners throughout the Indo-Pacific, whether that be in a contested environment or in a location without established infrastructure, such as during times of crisis or disaster response. This is the first time the aircraft has flown outside of Alaska, providing a unique training opportunity. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Jonathan Valdes Montijo)
