JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Oct. 8, 2019) – Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Jeremiah Sasso, a radiologic technologist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, prepares to x-ray a sailor’s foot. National Radiologic Technology Week (Nov. 3-9) celebrates the role of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care. Sasso, a native of New York City, says, “Everyday, rad techs perform diagnostic, routine, and emergency studies, portable x-rays, fluoroscopic studies, operating room x-rays, and CAT scans. We’re deployable and useful in every mission, at sea and ashore.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
