The image shows a heavy-duty metal gate set within a border or security fence structure. The gate features vertical steel bars, a white horizontal crossbar with partially legible markings, and is topped with coiled razor/concertina wire as an anti-climb deterrent. The surrounding fence panels are constructed of welded wire mesh attached to rust-colored steel posts, with arid desert vegetation visible through the openings.

A quality assurance (QA) specialist with Task Force Barrier visited a portion of the Tucson Sector to do reconnaissance of the existing barrier June 8, 2019. The QA noted the presence of flash flood gates, access gates, harsh conditions, areas where the barrier had been cut and repaired, and steep grades, making some areas difficult to reach.
