The image shows a heavily rusted orange-red metal fence or barrier structure, likely a border or security fence. White stenciled numbers and text are visible on a vertical post, reading '31.98583' and what appears to be coordinate or identification numbers. The structure features welded wire mesh panels attached to a tubular steel frame, photographed in strong directional sunlight.

A quality assurance (QA) specialist with Task Force Barrier visited a portion of the Tucson Sector to do reconnaissance of the existing barrier June 8, 2019. The QA noted the presence of flash flood gates, access gates, harsh conditions, areas where the barrier had been cut and repaired, and steep grades, making some areas difficult to reach.
