Craig Tomlinson, military police instructor with the 1st Battalion, 223rd Regional Training Institute, and a native of Oceano, Calif., wears the California Commendation Medal and holds the trophy he won Oct. 23 at the 2012 Best Warrior Competition award ceremony in the Liberty Theater at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, Calif. Tomlinson won the land navigation event held during Sept. 11-17 at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif.
