Spc. John Cunningham, a scout with B Troop, 1-18th Cavalry, 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and a native of Poway, Calif., wears the California Commendation Medal and holds the trophies he won Oct. 23 at the 2012 Best Warrior Competition award ceremony in the Liberty Theater at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, Calif. Cunningham won Soldier of the Year and the Army Physical Fitness Test, obstacle course and rock wall events held Sept. 11-17 at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif.
