    170929-N-UK248-177 STRAIT OF HORMUZ (Sept. 29, 2017) Machinists Mate 3rd Class Travis Hemphill (front), a native of Santa Rosa, California, and Information Systems Technician 3rd Class Austin Pethtel, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, both assigned to the small-caliber action team (SCAT) aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), stand watch on a .50-caliber machine gun in the ship’s wing walls. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
