Jose Rosales, a native of Compton, Los Angeles, assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), stands watch on a .50-caliber machine gun on an M1151 A1 gun truck secured to the ship’s flight deck. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
