    170926-N-UK248-273 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 26, 2017) Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) practice Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) self-defense techniques on the ship’s flight deck. MCMAP teaches Marines self-defense and submission techniques in order to be more effective during hand-to-hand combat. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
