170811-N-DM308-189 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 11, 2017) The aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), the guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97), the guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) and Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) participate in a strait transit show of force exercise. Theodore Roosevelt, Halsey, and Bunker Hill are underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
