170811-N-DM308-191 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 11, 2017) The aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), the guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97), and the guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) steam in formation during a strait transit show of force exercise. Theodore Roosevelt, Halsey, and Bunker Hill are underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
