    170812-N-ZS023-067 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Aug. 12, 2017) Damage Controlman Fireman Ryan Downer, a native of Stockton, California, and Damage Controlman 3rd Class Leonido Alegre, a San Diego native, both assigned to the Engineering department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), inspect an aqueous film-forming foam pump in the ship’s engineering spaces as part of regular scheduled maintenance. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
